To host the presence of Jesus in the power of His Spirit, maturing in and demonstrating His teachings and nature.
Tulsa House of Prayer is committed to faithful interpretation of the Word of God. The following are foundational beliefs based in biblical truth. All teaching and curriculum utilized within THOP are rooted in the following doctrines:
We believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ: The kingdom God is arriving, all men are to believe, turn back to God, and follow Jesus. This is to be preached by the power of the Holy Spirit to all nations.
(Mark 1:14-15; Matthew 16:24; Matthew 24:14)
We believe in the ordained suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus. In Him and through His cross the love, righteousness and justice of God is eternally displayed. As the fruit of His suffering, we are made whole in our turning, service and worship of Him that He might receive His glorious reward in us.
(Isa. 52-53; Lk. 9:22; 1 Cor. 2:1-5; Phil. 2:5-11; Eph. 1:14-20)
We believe through the power of this gospel we are invited and empowered to enjoy a true intimacy with God through His indwelling Spirit. Our main pursuit is Him: To draw near to Him. To know Him (Psalm 16:11; 27:4, John 14:19-21; Eph. 1:14-22; Col 1:9-12)
We believe in the biblical prophetic timeline of the end of days. Jesus will be exalted through His Church in the power of the Spirit, as a witness to all nations, and return in bodily form to finally destroy the works of sin and the devil, rule and reign in the earth, and lead the nations in wisdom and peace. Ultimately establishing New Jerusalem, the city and center of a new age, all creation redeem and restored.
(Rev. 19-22)
Adopted at the First Council of Niceae of 386, the Nicene Creed is an integral part of church history and spiritual formation. This statement of faith is foundational to the heart of THOP in our fulfillment of both mission and vision.
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son].
With the Father and the Son
he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
